A fish that whispered in the night
This poem came forth from a vivid afternoon dream. The imagery was stylized and intense – moving lines of color on a background of blackness. And then there was this message of Love.
A fish that whispered in the night
bearing wonderment and delight
speaking tongues as light as air
profound teachings, much to share
it spoke of winds on stony plains
of thundering steeds, with wild red manes
of golden fruit on trees of white
and oceans purple with violet light
of mountains reaching past the stars
of lonely planets near and far
it spoke of dreams, a woven web
of crystal beads on silken thread
it spoke of us, the human kind
of sufferings created by the mind
it spoke of freedom, the right to choose
but drawn to duality we tend to lose
it offered its flesh to ease our grief
to end this game turned to belief
it spoke of love, an endless wave
the answer to our aimless crave
The fish was done, and swam away
leaving me to start the day
I wish I may, I wish I might
follow the fish into the Light.
